Foreword Collection – Embodying Sexiness & Power

Papa Oppong signature

This collection is heavily inspired by the bad-assery of screen-queens and actresses in 2000s Ghana. Foreword is a conversation on sex appeal, body autonomy, and theatre. Looking at the on-screen personas of the late Suzzie Williams and Nana Ama McBrown helped Papa Oppong dream of this collection. In Foreword, the girls believe in their sexiness and power.

The designer expresses it best when he states: “I always have an idea of the direction I want to go with my stories but leave a lot of room for the narrative to evolve with me. I wanted to go back to what makes me happy as a designer; a lot of this was born out of a need to go back to what I know works for me as a creator, both in how to run my brand and how to build ideas for my brand. In foreword, I listened to Papa Oppong and what he wants.”

American Gothic enters the 21st Century.

The balance of good and evil.

Are we living in dreams of death?
